GV II
Former mill, now 2 houses. Mid-late C18. Coursed rubble
limestone; ashlar chimneys; Welsh slate roof. Three-storey; L-
plan. West side: ground built up at rear of building, resulting
in 2-storey elevation. Five windows to main range, all 3-light
chamfered mullioned casements except 2-light right. Central
doorway with timber lintel and C20 glazed door. Scattered
mullioned fenestration on north side of wing projecting forward to
right, some C20 altered. Gable end of wing has C20 inserted
garage doorway with segmental arched and Venetian windows to middle
and upper floor respectively. Ball finial to gable. East side:
6-window fenestration to 3-storey elevation, all 3-light chamfered
mullioned casements. Gable-mounted chimney with plain cap to each
end of main mill range. Interior: not inspected but altered upon
conversion to domestic use. A typical Stroud valley mill built
for the preparation and finishing of woollen cloth. The original
mill pond fed by numerous springs stands to west of building.
