mately 30m south east of
Pitchcombe House

GV II

Stables and coach house. Mid-late C18. Coursed and squared
rubble limestone; stone slate roof. Two-storey with attic at
south end, reducing to single-storey at north end due to rising
ground level. South end: full gable end faces road. Single-
window fenestration above doorway with chamfered opening and
hoodmould, plank door. Three-light upper floor, 2-light attic
casement, both recessed chamfered mullioned with lead latticed
glazing. Sundial in gable, now without gnomon. West side: full.
gable to either end of stable range, south end having coach doorway
with timber lintel and single-window fenestration above, as to
south gable end but with row of pigeon holes and oval vent above
attic casement. Similar fenestration to left gable; row of upper
floor casements, all 2 or 3-light with hoodmoulds and lead latticed
glazing. Upper floor doorway with plank door. Rear: 2 eaves-
level gabled loft dormers.
Interior: some stable fittings retained in northern half of range.
