House and shop in row. C17. Squared and coursed dressed limestone, stone slate
roof. A fine double-fronted property with lofty coped full gables separated by
a short section of roof; to left, this built up to carry a C20 stack at eaves.
Two storeys and attic, 1+1 window; at first floor the windows are drawn towards
the centre, and do not lie under those in gables; ground floor, left, similarly
drawn across. At ground floor is a 4-pane sash lighting the adjoining property,
Birmingham House, in Victoria Street (q.v.), then a good 24-paned bowed C19 shop
front with fluted pilaster jambs each side of a central part-glazed door in
chamfered surround with flat wooden hood on wrought iron brackets, up one step.
At first floor are 3-light and to attics 2-light stone mullioned casements, all
with recessed hollow chamfer mould and in stopped hoods. Concrete block stacks
to right, and to eaves, left.
