9/223 Stones Farmhouse
GV II
Farmhouse. Probably early C18. Coursed rubble stone, dressed to
north-west side, stone slate roof, scattered stone and brick stacks
including large stone ridge stack. Single range with rear lean-to
with slate roof, and end range to north-west forming gable end to
left. Two storeys and attic. Front has 3 windows, paired 3-pane
casements with timber lintel to first floor. Ground floor has 3-
light casement and 6-pane sash to right, both with large flush
stone lintels. Plank door to left with C19 gabled trellis porch.
Central hipped dormer with paired casements. May originally have
been north-west wing only, as some quoins from rear corner still
show in front wall. North-west side has single small gable with 2-
light chamfered stone mullion and 3-light below, probably of C19.
Roof of main block joins this wing as small hip.
