Watchman's cottage on the Stroudwater, Thames and Severn Canal, and
associated lock. 1790. Rendered brick, with slate roof. Circular
plan, 3 storeys. Lean-to of 2 storeys to rear. Entrances at
ground level to stable, and raised over steps at first floor level
to dwelling. Timber casement windows, both doors and windows have
pointed arched heads. Offset in wall near top.
Canal lock has stone recesses for gates. Spillway and grooves for
sluices. Brick walling undergoing reconstruction at time of
inspection, April 1985. (Household, H. Thames and Severn Canal,
1983).
