Two adjoining houses including former post office. Late C17/early
C18. Roughcast faced with alternating flush quoins, stone slate
roof, large square stone end and ridge stacks. Single range of 2
storeys and attic with small rear wings, and small single storey
and attic wing probably of C19 attached on right (No 31). Each
originally with 2 windows to each floor and central doorway. No 29
to left has 2-light wood mullions and transoms with leaded
casements to first floor, replaced 2-light casements on ground
floor flanking now blocked recessed doorway up 2 stone steps,
entrance on left hand return with C19 porch. No 31 to right has 2-
light wood mullions and transoms with plain casements to each floor
and central 6-panel door, top 2 glazed, rest flush, with flat stone
hood on curved brackets, up 2 stone steps. Union fire insurance
plaque over door. Three gabled dormers, one to No 29 and two to
No31 with paired leaded casements. Overhanging gable ends with
plain barge boards to both ends and also to smaller wing of No 31
which has large plain paired casements to front and gable end.
