Country house. 1844 by William Brookes, with connecting wing to
west of 1884 and additional range to north of 1900 - all dated.
Coursed rubble stone, Cotswold stone slate roof with decorative
ridge tiles, 6 large stone stacks some with multiple polygonal
flues, raised verges with kneelers and corner pinnacles on corbels.
Jacobean style. Double range with additional rear wing at right
angles of 1900. 2 storeys and attic. 3 stepped gables with
central finials, and each with single leaded light, forming parapet
wall at base. 2-storey central castellated square porch dated
1844 with coat of arms. 7 windows, including porch, 2-light
mullion and transoms (3-light in porch), and longer windows in same
style on ground floor, with continuous dripmould above each row of
windows. Porch has large 4-centred moulded archway with studded
double doors. To left, single storey linking unit dated 1884 with
initials FH on central stepped gable, bow front with continuous row
of mullion and transom windows and central double door. A good
example of vernacular continuity for this date.
