Two former cottages, converted to one probably during C18, now with
2 small shops and flat above. Originally probably C16 front
range, enlarged to rear on left-hand side during C17 and refronted
and raised in front probably in late C18. Rubble stone, stone
slate roof with partial slate roof on rear cross gabled wing, stone
end stack to right with top courses of brick, and stone end stack
to left on cross gabled wing. Single front range with rear cross
gabled wing to left, and long stable/workshop extension to right at
rear not of special interest. 2 storeys to street front which has
3 windows, 4-pane sashes with moulded wood architraves and stone
sills. Ground floor has double fronted C19 shop front to left
with 2-light windows, central half-glazed double doors and wooden
frieze and cornice, C19 multi-pane window to right, and central
double doors with timber lintel to through passage with timber
framing and brick infill on each side, chamfered and stopped beams
in both flanking rooms. Both stacks have wood newel stair,
partially blocked to right. Rear of cross gabled wing has two 3-
light stone mullions with square hoodmould and remains of 4-light
on ground floor.
