GV II

House. C16; altered in C17; extended in C19. Coursed rubble
limestone, partly timber framed; stone tile roof. 2-storey main
range with attic, 3 rooms; C19 extension of staircase hall and one
room; back wing of 2 storeys; attached oven house. Main range
front: masonry ground floor with 1, 2 and 3-light recessed
chamfered mullioned windows with hoods; close studded upper floor
with 3 timber casements; east part has C19 windows of 2 and 3-
lights, and porch with 4-centred arches. West gable end: two 3-
light windows, and a single light to attic. At back of main range
is cavetto moulded window of 2 plus 2-lights with King mullion.
Back wing has gable end chimney and step in masonry at upper floor
level. Ashlar chimney shafts have moulded caps.
Interior: 2 ground floor rooms have elaborately moulded beams;
large partially blocked inglenook fireplace in main room; upper
floor timber framing is exposed internally: close studding to main
range, square framing in back wing. Attached C17 oven house to
south: limestone rubble with plain tile roof; stone fireplace and
chimney at west gable end.
