Farmhouse. Early C17 with C19 additions to rear. Built by the
Harpur family. Ashlar with stone dressings, flush quoins and
plinth. Plain tile roofs with moulded stone copings to gables
and flush parapets with similar copings, also with one massive
central brick ridge stack and another small brick ridge stack.
Two storeys plus attics and three bays, front and rear
elevations with three tall gables to centre flanked by straight
parapets. Main elevation has two semi-circular steps up to
central moulded four-centred arched doorcase with 3-light
mullioned overlight and long dripmould. To north is a later
small pane window and beyond is a 3-light recessed and chamfered
mullion window with dripmould. Similar window to south of
doorcase and above three similar shallower windows. Above again
three more similar mullioned windows in the gables. North and
south gable walls have similar windows to each floor and rear
elevation has similar windows to first floor and in the gables.
Attached to north side of rear elevation is a late C19 brick
addition with glazing bar sashes. Interior has winder staircase
with plain splat balusters, large chamfered ceiling beams and
some inglenook fireplaces.
