Barn. Circa early C18; extended circa early C19. Weatherboarded timber frame on English bond red brick plinth. Clay plain tile roof with half-hipped ends.
PLAN: 3-bay barn with opposing cart entrances to central threshing bay; circa early C19 extended by one bay at east end and midstrey added on north front.
EXTERIOR: North front has midstrey to right of centre with jettied weatherboarded gable and full-height plank double doors; tiled roof carried down on right over concrete block outshut; window on left with plank shutters. South front has full-height cart entrance to left of centre; and C20 concrete block outbuilding [not included] attached to south wall on right.
INTERIOR: Jowled posts, some with cut jowls; short straight braces from posts to tie-beams and wall-plates. Tie-beam and collar queen-post trusses with clasped purlins and short straight wind-braces to central bay. Broad common-rafters re-set with ridge-board. Wall-framing comprising long studs without midrail and with short straight tension-braces at the corners.
A good example of a small early C18 timber-framed barn.
