Day Centre. 1887-9. Charles Lancaster. Common brick with red brick
and stone dressings, slate roof with tile cresting. 1
storey, 10 bays. Central 2-bay block and 2 x 3-bay pavilions
with recessed 2-bay connecting blocks. Sill band and impost
course taken over window heads. Brick quoins to windows.
Central block of 2 bays with hipped roof and 2 gables with
brick band and diapering, and decorative barge boards.
Paired segmental-headed windows with sashes. Central
segmental-headed entrance with recessed doorcase. Connecting
blocks have 2 segmental-headed windows. Left pavilion has
projecting conservatory with Doric columns and hipped roof.
Right pavilion has two windows, one now door. Both have
gables with brick bands and timbering.
