Terrace wall, steps, and associated urns. C18. Red brick with stone dressings,
stone steps. Terrace wall terminates to east in series of 12 giant round
arches with impost band and three smaller arches without imposts.
Continuous moulded coping ramped down to east to square abutment with deep
moulded cornice: ball finial missing. C19 extension wall to east terminates
in square brick abutment with stone cornice and ball finial. Thirteen
shallow rectangular steps to top of terrace flanked to right and left by two
oval urns on bases. Larger, similar bases lie behind, to right and to left.
Statues missing. The cellars to Londesborough Hall (not inspected) survive
beneath the terrace. This terrace wall defines the southern boundary to the
gardens of the former Londesborough Hall. Londesborough Park is included in
the HBMC County Register of Gardens at Grade II*.
