to The Avenue Hospital

Now part of the hospital premises. Built as stable block circa 1820. 2 storeys
in brick with stone eaves band and console cornice. 5 and 3 windows, at cills;
4 and 3 windows to ground floor, rusticated stone lintels. Later hung sashes with
glazing bars. Large pedimented main archway, heavily rusticated and vermiculated,
now filled by modern door. Rusticated round-headed small entrance to the left
with radiating semi-circular fanlight. Stone plinth.
Nos 7 to 31 (odd) and the Avenue Hospital, stables and wall form a group. No 21
(including former No 19) is of local interest.
