Gatehouse, now roofless outbuilding. C14 with later alterations. Sandstone
rubble and sandstone dressings. Rectangular plan aligned roughly north-east/
south-west. South elevation has C14 entry on left-hand side with moulded
jambs and two-centred head. West end has one C19 vent loop to left-hand side.
The former gatehouse is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, County No 135. (BoE, p 322;
RCHM, Vol III, p 2).
