Summerhouse. Probably late C18 or early C19 or later with C12 and C13
fragments: Roughly coursed sandstone rubble, sandstone ashlar and pyramidical
stone slate roof with wrought-iron weathervane. Square plan. West elevation
has central entry with re-set four-centred head and C12 re-set imposts formed
from fragments of beaded lozenges. Nine-paned oak door with flat canopy
supported on brackets above. Three stone steps rise to door which is flanked
by shafts. To the right are three attached shafts, the centre one with a keel
moulding, all with circular capitals. To the left is a single shaft set in a
pilaster with moulded sides. Interior has early C19 cast-iron fireplace with
raised basket.
