Farmhouse; probably C17, altered early C19. Roughcast, probably
on stone, tiled roof. L-plan, rear wing probably late addition:
4 windows wide, 2 storeys with attics, one room deep. Entrance
facade, facing away from drive: 20-pane sash on right, flat timber
lintel. To left half-glazed front door, 2 flush panels below, up
one stone step; moulded surround, flat head: lean-to porch on
curved brackets. Nine-pane and 20-pane sashes to left, ground
slopes down beyond. First floor three 9-pane sashes, over door
and adjoining windows. Right return external rendered stack, 2
diamond-set brick flues: small, single-pane segmental-head window
to attic on left. Left return door to cellar below, ventilation
slats in upper half: 16-pane sash in ground floor, cambered head;
3-light mullion and transom with cambered head to first floor, 3-
light casement to attic, half-hip over.
Interior not inspected. Briefly belonged to Benjamin Disraeli by
virtue of his wife (K. & W. Thomas, Our Star of Taynton, 1981.)
