Royal Arms of George IV, 1826. The device on top of the inner shield looks like the Elector of Hanover's Bonnet from before 1816. A true crown would have the points meeting at the top. (This might not matter so much, since heraldry is as much an art of consensus as it is of differences). (Photo Mar 2008).
