East aspect. The small size of the ironstone used shows the chancel to be the earliest part of the church. The narrowness of the window and the simplicity of the intersecting tracery also point to this. The level of the roof has been raised and it is less steeply pitched than the original. Church records give the year 1760 for this: the use of brick, typically C18, agrees. The pinnacles, adorned with heads, look as modern as the vestry to the north. (Photo Mar 2008).
