Swithland slate headstone, rectangular with a round shield and acanthus leaves. -Here lyeth the Body of John Darling who departed this life the 15th day of September Anno Domini 1732 In the 80th Year of his Age-. -I was with Pain so sore oppressd it wore my strength away/ But hope for that Eternal Rest which never will decay-.
