Uploader's Comments

Impressive group of 10 chest tombs. Circa 1820-1860. 8 commemorate members of the Stokes family; 2 others, set slightly apart, commemorate members of the Ward family. Limestone ashlar. All have moulded bases and cornice lids, and recessed corners with rectangular balusters. Sides have oval inscription panels, most with carved fan motifs in spandrels. Inscriptions on south (weather) sides are nearly all illegible. (Photo Oct 2007).
