SD 52SW FARINGTON STANIFIELD LANE

8/10 Farington House

II

House, c.1830s, now club. Brick with stone plinth, stone dressings,
hipped slate roof. Square plan of 5 bays x 3 bays, with service wing to
rear. Two storeys, symmetrical, the central bay in front and at each side
stepped forward slightly; stone 1st floor sill band, stone cornice and
coping. Doorway with porch of Ionic pilasters and columns, plain
entablature; the window above is tripartite and has a stone architrave;
the coping above is pedimented with a carved stag's head in the centre.
All windows sashed with glazing bars, stone sills and splayed stone
heads.
