Church, 1863-5, by Robinson and Stephens (Pevsner). Rock-faced sandstone with
string courses, slate roof. Nave on north-south axis, south-west steeple,
west aisle, chancel. In C13 style. Three-stage tower has angle buttresses,
3-light window, clock-faces at top stage, broach spire with belfry lucarnes to
the cardinal sides. Gable of nave to road has arched doorway with 2 orders of
moulding, a 3-light plate-traceried window above; 4-bay buttressed side wall
of nave has in 2nd bay a gabled porch with steeply pitched roof, moulded
arched doorway with shafts, and plate-traceried 2-light windows; 2-bay chancel
has stepped 3-light "east" window. Interior: 3-bay arcade on short columns
with moulded caps; chancel arch with demi-columns; arch-braced roof;
baptistery in base of tower.
