Farmhouse, later C18, now house. Coursed thin sandstone rubble with quoins,
stone slate roof with one chimney on the ridge, 2 gable chimneys.
Rectangular single-pile 3-bay plan. Two storeys; door to 1st bay and 3
large rectangular windows on each floor all have plain stone surrounds
and altered glazing. Right gable wall has various altered or blocked
windows, including an oval opening at attic level (filled with modern
datestone) and at rear corner, abutting quoined end of barn wall, a door
with lintel lettered "I 1726 E". Embedded in rear wall is gable end of
large 4 bay barn which has rusticated quoins, opposed wagon arches with
rusticated surrounds and keystone dated 1877, 3 bullseyes at 1st floor,
and various ground floor doors and windows. Item shares farmyard with
Rough Heys Farm Cottage (q.v.). (Ainsworth Homesteads pp.94-8).
