Farmhouse, undergoing renovation as house (1985). Mid C17; altered.
Coursed sandstone rubble with quoins (roof stripped at time of survey).
L-shaped 2-bay end baffle-entry plan with full height outshut to most of
rear. Two storeys; large single-storey porch at right hand end, with
monopitched roof and doorway with plain surround, inner doorway with
chamfered surround; recessed hollow-chamfered mullion windows with
hoodmoulds on both floors: 5 and 6 lights at ground floor, 3, 4 and 2
lights at 1st floor, all lacking some mullions; chimneys at both gables.
Left gable end has small addition flush with front wall, two openings on
each floor towards the rear (one at 1st floor with a mullion); right gable
wall has small firewindow towards the rear; rear of 2nd bay has a 4-light
mullioned window without a hoodmould, lacking 2 mullions, and a little
window above. Rear outshut mostly demolished at time of survey. Interior:
large stone heck with peephole to former inglenook, (beams jointed in place
of former bressummer), C18 stone fireplace with moulded corbelled jambs;
relocated staircase against rear wall of housepart. Reference: RCHM
