GV II
Two farmhouses under one roof, now farmhouse and cottage. Probably early
C17; altered. Coursed squared sandstone with quoins, slate roof.
Rectangular 4-bay plan, divided equally. Two storeys, gable to road,
facing south; a doorway each side of the centre, both moulded, the left
with 4-centred head (but now blocked) and the right with depressed
mullioned windows on each floor; in the left house 3 and 5 lights at ground
floor, in the right hand house 4-lights (3rd and 4th replaced by inserted
door) and 5 lights at ground floor, all with hoodmoulds, and all 3 lights
at lst floor. Ridge chimney at junction; large external chimney at right
gable, with offsets, a squint-like firewindow at ground floor to rear of
this, and a recessed square window on each floor (formerly 2 lights,
lacking mullions). Rear: a 2-light window at ground floor, some other
small or altered windows, and a lean-to addition to each part. Interior:
mostly altered, but a chamfered depressed arched doorway in the central
partition wall suggests building for related households.
