House. Early C18, with C19 and C20 alterations. Brick with ashlar dressings, now rendered and painted. Slate roofs with raised and coped gables. 5 brick stacks. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attics. South garden front has symmetrical 5-window facade, with central doorway with 6-panel door and painted door surround with single Doric columns supporting entablature and pediment. Either side two 24-pane glazing bar sashes with panelled external shutters, above 5 similar windows also with external shutters. North entrance front has off-centre doorway with projecting pilastered porch and panelled door, attached to left single storey link with 4-light casement window. Above a Venetian window with glazing bar sashes and to the left two 12-pane glazing bar sashes. Right return has large 3-light casement window and to the right a small 2-light plain sash. Above another 3-light casement and a plain sash. Irregular rear facade to west has attached square outbuilding with square hipped roof and central stack which may have been an external kitchen. INTERIOR: not inspected but reported to have central hall with dado panelling and original early C18 wooden staircase with turned balusters. Panelled east room has original fireplace and shutters. Panelled west room has recessed bookcases and original fireplace. Upper rooms also have original panelling, fireplaces and shutters to most rooms.
