Farmhouse, dated 1688, altered. Brick, some stone, stone plinth, some
stone quoins; slate roof with modern chimney behind the ridge and one at
left side wall. L-shaped 3-bay plan, the 1st bay built as receding
crosswing, C19 outshut in angle to rear of 1st and 2nd bays. Two
storeys; chamfered stone plinth to 1st 2 bays, stone base to 3rd bay;
front wall of C19 brick, gabled in 1st bay; board door at junction of
2nd and 3rd bays, 3 C19 windows each floor; set in wall above door is
square datestone lettered in relief S . Right gable wall has 2

vertically aligned doors (the upper blocked); rear of wing has quoins,
a small stairlight with hoodmould for former 3-light window, 1st floor
window with similar hoodmould, one ground floor window and a blocked
attic light. Original rear wall of 2nd bay is of stone. Interior:
some quarter-round moulded beams; star-patterned splat balusters to
dogleg stair; large roof trusses visible, with low tie beams - one c.
2 metres from chimney stack which may have been smoke bay.
