Seven town houses and adjoined former coach house, of different builds,
forming a continuous row; after 1850. Now mostly offices. Red brick in
Flemish bond (some rear walls of rubble), stone dressings, slate roofs
with chimneys in front and behind the ridge. All double pile, with rear
extensions. All 2 storeys; moulded stone gutter cornices (except Nos.18
and 20 which are bracketed); front doors have moulded stone doorcases
with straight cornice on scrolled brackets, and there are also smaller
plain-cased lobby doors leading to yards; each has one ground floor window
(some with large rectangular moulded architrave, but No.20 altered and
No.18 sashed), and sashed windows above (Nos. 16, 20, 22 and 26 have 3,
others 2, Old Coach House one) except No.20 which has top-hung casements;
all these have stone sills and splayed stone heads. Return wall of Old
Coach House has 2 segmental headed wagon doors now windows. With Nos.7 to
27 opposite (q.v.), they form a symmetrical perspective to Church of
St. George (q.v.).
