House, probably later C17, now 2 dwellings. Sandstone rubble with scored
render to facade, slate roof with one ridge chimney. U-shaped 3-bay plan
with receding wings. Two storeys plus attics in the wings. High plinth
to facade. Front door close to junction with left wing; most windows are
C19 alterations with stone sills, splayed stone heads and sashes (one on
each floor of centre range, and of each wing) but oblong 3-light attic
openings in each wing gable may be original; left wing also has tall
stairlight. Interior: left wing incorporates fine staircase of late C17
type with string, column newels, turned balusters, rising to attic level;
original roof truss which may be a raised cruck; some internal timber-
framed partition walls; but otherwise altered.
