House, possibly a conversion of a C17th farm building, with extension of
1900 in keeping. Sandstone rubble with stone slate roof. 2 storeys.
South facade has the earlier, gabled, wing to the right. On the ground
floor, to the right of the porch, is a wide entrance with a triangular head
of 2 pieces of stone, now blocked to form a window, which has 2 square
stone mullions. On the 1st floor is a tall 2-light window with plain
stone surround and square mullion. To its left, above the porch, is a
blocked doorway with triangular head. At attic level is a blocked rebated
and chamfered surround. The porch has a moulded doorway with 2-centred
head, a plaque with a carved deer over, and a coping with ball finial.
To the right the roof line of the wing is continued down over a one-bay
outshut whose ground-floor window is set within a blocked doorway with
triangular head. The 1st floor window is modern with long-and-short
jambs. To the left is a wing of one bay, the south wall having a 6-light
chamfered mullioned and transomed window with hood. The 1st floor is
blank with a plaque inscribed 'IPB 1900'. The west, gable, wall has a
3-light chamfered mullioned window with hood on each floor. Chimney on
each side of the earlier wing. The gables have copings.
