Pit-head winding tower. 1912. Wrought iron. Wrought-iron
lattice girders with rivetted plates at all the joints form
the structure of the tower which has inclined girders on the
winding house side. 3 wheels, 2 large and 1 small are
mounted at the top. Minor alterations were made during its
working life to comply with statutory safety requirements.
