Bank, c1870 probably by John Cunningham, extended by GE Grayson. Stone, three storeys, five bays. Centre round-arched entrance and four large windows under Doric pilastrade. First floor has five sash windows in Corinthian aedicules. Top floor has five sash windows with consoled pediments. Top panelled frieze, moulded eaves cornice. Recessed curved corners. Fenwick Street facade has four bays, with later additions at rear, and is altered to centre of ground floor. Plaque in right end bay commemorating building of first head office of Liverpool Union Bank, 1835.
Large banking hall probably late C19 supported on granite columns with enriched beams and coved domed skylight, entered through coffered tunnel-vaulted vestibule.
