Office building. 1866. P. Ellis. Cast iron frame with
stone cladding and brick to sides. 5 storeys and 3 bays
wide. Mullions run to full height, with round heads, swept
cornice, and Jacobean finial. Rear courtyard: Oriels to
rear wing cantilevered from frame and canted top and bottom.
Iron framed spiral stair in angle with barley sugar columns
and iron and glass cladding, conical glazed cap. Important
for its early use of expressed iron framing.
