The Manor House
(including The Crest and
- The Nook)
- II
Of several periods, perhaps extending back as far as C17. A rambling detached house,
sub-divided into three residences. Front of brick. 8 windows, mainly sashes. The
2 left-hand windows are in gable front with simply-moulded barge-boards. Second
2 windows are in similar gable, slightly advanced and with flush stone quoins to
salient corner. Both gable sections are probably essentially C18, but have C20 bow
windows on ground floor. To right is considerably advanced section, probably early
to mid C19, with 3-window canted bay, dentilled cornice and hipped roof. In middle
section of rear are 2 stone-mullioned windows to upper storey, of C17 or earlier
C18.
