Terrace houses. c.1722. Brown brick with stuccoed ground floor, slate
roofs. 3 storeys, basements and dormered mansards. Each front 2 windows
wide, except No. 14 with 4-window front. Plain architraved doorways to
left hand with continuous painted timber architrave-cornice carried across
over ground floor window heads and broken forward to form cornice-hoods
over doorways, that to No. 14 on brackets. Flush-framed glazing bar sashes
under red brick segmental gauged arches. Brick plat band to 2nd floor and
parapet with coping. Wrought iron area railings with flambé torch finials.
No. 14 was a residence of T.E. Lawrence (G.L.C. plaque). Part of an
exceptionally well preserved enclave of early C.18 housing together with
Cowley and Lord North Streets q.v.
