TA 11 SW BROCKLESBY BROCKLESBY PARK

1/9 Monument to horse

G.V. II

Monument to horse, 1891. Ashlar. Monument consists of a square
base from which rises a square pedestal which in turn supports a
large ovoid urn decorated with leaves, paterae and lion heads.
On the side of the column is the following inscription in an oval
panel:- 'Under this urn lies DASHAWAY, a favourite hunter aged
21 years 1891.
