Repainted Royal Arms of George III, 1778. 1, The three leopards of England impaling the lion rampant of Scotland. 2, Fleurs de lys of France. 3 Harp of Ireland. 4, Two leopards of Brunswick, Lion rampant and hearts of Luneberg, White horse of Westphalia; inescutcheon the ducal crown of Hanover. This Arms may originally have been painted at the coronation of George I. The blazonry has not been changed although the house of Hanover gave up their claim to the throne of France.
