Wall monument and charity board, by the same mason responsible for the headstones by the porch. The style of the angels eyes is also found in Vale of Belvoir slate headstones of the same date, suggesting a common source of design, or tutor. -Near this place lyes interrd the body of John Parsons Gentleman who by his last Will and Testament bearing Date the 1st day of March 1716 Did Give For the Benefit of the poor of this Parish 24s Per Annum for Ever to be laid out in White Bread and to be Disposed of at the Discretion of the Minister, Church wardens or Overseers of the Poor or some or one of them By Equal Proportions on Every sunday in the year-. The engraver has laid out the heights of the letters, but appears to have relied more on instinct for their necessary widths. (Photo Jul 2008).
