Detached house. Early C19. Local lias stone cut and squared; Welsh slate roof between stepped coped gables; stone end
and brick intermediate chimney stacks. Two storeys, 4 bays. Sash windows of 16-panes above and 20 panes below in plain
openings with dovetailed stone lintols above and gauged stone flat arches below; lower bay 4 has French windows with
large panes, and bay 2 has a 6 flush panel door with glazed toplight under flat stone hood on corbel brackets. Interior
not seen. Enclosing front garden a matching stone wall, approximately 1.1 metres high on north side, but on east, road
side about 800mm high and capped with cast iron fret having Greek key and anthemion ornament; plain trapezoid plan
piers with shaped tops to cast iron gate, also C19 in character; the whole contributing to setting of house, which
forms good group with The Manse (qv) and Maypole Knap House (qv).
