Detached House. Early C19. Local lias stone roughly cut and squared; Welsh slate roof to higher portion, clay pantiles
to remainder; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 3 and 4 bays. Small pane 2-light casement windows of earlier pattern
with deep stone lintols, no window upper bay 2; the window to upper bay 4 set into the lower roof, and below it a
6-panel door set under a flat stone hood on corbel brackets; to bay 5 a single light window only, and bays 6 and 7
higher level casements only. Interior not seen. Forms good group with The Manse (qv) and Lomans (qv). House takes its
name from the nearby field, which was the site of the annual May Day festivities until c1940.
