Farmhouse, now inn. Mid-to late C18 with later additions and alterations. Painted brick; slate roof with coped verges on carved stone kneelers and external end stacks, right tapered to base. T-plan with lower range to rear possibly slightly later than main range. Two storeys and attic with floor band to first floor and chamfered plinth with cellar below. Three-window front; mid-C19 horned four-paned sashes in C18 openings with gauged heads, three C19 gabled dormers in bottom of roof slope. Two-storey range at right-angles to rear: painted red sandstone blocks and slate roof with integral end stack. Single-storey outbuilding attached to left gable end of main range follows curve of road to south.
INTERIOR: two chamfered spine beams with plain and chamfered joists to right ground-
floor room.
