House, latterly divided. Mid-C17 with probably C18 addition. Timber
framed with painted brick nogging on painted coursed sandstone rubble
plinth; partly rebuilt and extended in sandstone rubble
and brick; plain tile roof. T-plan; probably 2 framed bays with projecting
gabled cross-wing to left of 2 framed bays; probably C18 addition to
right. Framing: square panels (3 from sole plate to wall plate) with
long straight tension braces and also closely-spaced uprights with middle
rail; collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts and v-struts in gable
of cross-wing. One storey and attic. 2 large C20 gabled eaves dormers,
the left-hand one with C20 two-light leaded casement and the right-hand
one with C20 two-light metal casement; brick stack in front of ridge
off-centre to left and integral brick end stack to right. 4 windows
to right with late C19 and C20 two-, 3- and 4-light wooden casements;
lean-to porch in angle of cross-wing off-centre to left with boarded
door in return wall of cross-wing; left-hand cross-wing with leaded C20
three-light attic casement and ground-floor leaded 4-light wooden casement.
Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest.
