Mill and mill-house, now disused mill and house. Late C17 and C18 mill
with late C19 alterations and mid-to late C19 mill house. Timber framed
mill with painted brick nogging, partly weatherboarded and partly rebuilt
in red brick; painted brick house; plain tile roofs. Framing: C17 square
panels with short straight corner braces, and larger C18 light square
panels (4 panels from sole plate to wall plate). L-plan with house projecting
to right. 2 storey house and mill of 2 storeys and attic. Central projecting
gabled hoist loft with 2-light metal casement. 3 first-floor boarded
doors, with small window above to right. Ground floor with 2-light wooden-
framed metal casement to right, small boarded hatch to left; (probably
to accomodate belt drive for external machinery), and central boarded
stable-type door. House projecting at right angles to right with external
brick end stack and C20 wooden casement not of special interest. Interior
of mill: first floor partly removed; some fittings survive including 2
pairs of stones to right,driven from beneath, with much shafting and
gearing, and heavy timber supporting structure; large probable former
wheel pit to left.
