Cottage, now divided. Mid- to late C17 with early and mid-C20 additions.
Timber framed with painted brick nogging, partly rendered; partly underbuilt
in front and extended in painted and unpainted brick; plain tile roof.
Baffle-entry plan of 2 framed bays with additions. Framing: square panels,
formerly 3 from sole plate to wall plate. One storey and attic. C20
raking eaves dormer to right with 3-light metal casement; central brick
ridge stack. 2-window front, C20 three-light wooden casements flanking
central half-glazed door. Early C20 addition to right not of special
interest. Late C20 one-storey brick addition to left and at rear. Interior
of timber framed part: left-hand ground-floor room with chamfered spine
beam and plain joists; evidence of large old fireplace. Cl7 winder staircase
at rear of stack. C17 roof trusses and purlins. Despite later additions
this item is included for the survival of its timber frame and internal
features.
