Farmhouse. Late C16, partly rebuilt in the early C18 and enlarged in the
early C19 and early C20. Timber framed with some wattle and daub and
brick infill, partly rendered. Partly rebuilt and extended in red brick.
Slate roofs. Framing: small square panels (4 from sole plate to wall
plate) with short straight angle braces. One framed bay (possibly a
fragment of a larger house) with later additions to north-west, north-
east and south-east. Two storeys. Integral brick end stacks to right.
Small first-floor wooden casement to right at front. Early C20 addition
adjoining front at right angles with integral brick end stack and lean-to
porch in angle to right. Half-glazed door in angle to left. Left-hand
gable end rebuilt in C18, with plat band. Gable rebuilt in the early C20.
Right-hand gable end has exposed collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts
and V-struts. Early C19 addition adjoining to right with ground-floor glazing
bar sash, first-floor 3-light casement and integral brick end stack. Lean-
to at rear with 3-light casement and boarded door. Interior: central
ground-floor room has deep-chamfered cross-beamed ceiling, with some
chamfered joists. Framing of rear wall visible in lean-to at rear.
First-floor rooms and roof not inspected. Despite later additions, this
house still contains a largely complete timber frame.
