Two barns approximately 40 metres north of Henbarns Farmhouse

Two barns. Mid C17 and late C17 with later alterations. Mid C17 barn timber-framed with iron cladding over weatherboarding to front; late C17 barn also timber-framed with painted brick infill; continuous rubblestone plinth and corrugated-iron roofs, lower to later barn. Mid C17 barn open to roof, late C17 barn with loft.

Framing: only visible internally to mid C17 barn: vertical posts with long, straight and curving tension braces. Square panels, three from cill to wall plate with long, straight tension braces to late C17 barn, which has eaves hatches to left and to right of centre. Central full-height threshing entrance with opposing doors to mid C17 barn.

INTERIOR: mid C17 barn has single-purlin roof in three bays with raking struts from tie beams to principal rafters; similar roof in four bays to late C17 barn. Late C17 barn has been largely rebuilt in C20 brick to rear and is included for group value.
