Farmbuildings. Early C19 with minor later additions and alterations.
Timber framed with painted brick infill on high regularly coursed and
dressed sandstone block plinth; slate roof, part graded and hipped to north end of west range.
Enclosing north, south and east sides of cobbled farmyard to Eardiston
House (q.v.) with another range to north at right-angles to road. 2
levels. Framing: square panels, 3 and 4 from high cill to wall-plate
with long curving tension braces to south and west ranges; queen-strut
end truss to south range. Framing similar but more irregular to north
range and 2 square panels with straight braces to range at right-angles
to road. 4 eaves hatches to west range and one to south range. Ground
floor of west range has scattered doorways and windows, including doorway
in angle with south range. Vehicle entrance arch to north range in angle
with west range. Range at right-angles to road has gabled doorway with
hoist at first-floor level immediately to north of vehicle entrance arch.
Cross-shaped air vents in panels of framing to south range and to south
end of west range. Interior. South range and southern part of west
range open to roof, remainder with lofts. King-post roof to northern
part of west range and mixed queen-post and king-post trusses to south
range and south end of west range. Form a picturesque group with Eardiston
House (q.v.).
