14/140 Manor Farmhouse and attached
farm buildings
GV II
Farmhouse and farmbuildings. Probably C17, restored C19. Limestone and marlstone
rubble, some squared and coursed, with limestone-ashlar dressings; concrete
plain-tile and Welsh-slate roofs with ashlar stacks; corrugated-asbestos roofs
on farm buildings. 4-unit plan with service range. 2 storeys. Street front of
main range has 3 leaded 2-light stone-mullioned windows at first floor and, at
ground floor, 2 similar windows, a single-light window and a chamfered-stone
doorway which are probably C19 restorations. Roof, which is higher in the 2 bays
to right, has stacks of 1, 3 and 4 shafts with plinths and moulded caps. Rear
has further leaded mullioned windows, some larger. Lower slated service bay to
left has a segmental-arched window below a small chamfered-stone window; its
roof continues to the left with a corrugated covering and links with a 6- or
7-bay barn with central double doors. Farmbuildings return to rear on both sides
of a yard. Interiors not inspected.
