Farmhouse, Datestone 1675. Squared coursed and banded limestone and ironstone
with Collyweston slate roof. L-shape plan. 2 storeys and attic. Elevation
parallel to road is of 3-window range at ground floor with 2-light stone mullion
window, with drip moulds, to left of centre; flanked by 2 C20 casements. Similar
2-light stone mullion windows to first floor. Chamfered plinth and long
limestone quoins. Ashlar gable parapets, kneelers and ball finials and ashlar
stack with moulded cornices at ridge. Roundel with tablet above and inscribed
date to centre of first floor. Gable elevation to right has one 3-light stone
mullion window to each floor, all with dripmoulds. Attic window has leaded
lights. Tablet in apex of gable has inscription W/WL/75. Gable elevation to left
has a 3-light stone mullion window to ground floor with drip mould and similar
2-light window to attic. One light is blocked, the other has leaded lights. Top
corners of the window surround have ears with lattice decoration. Two 3-stage
buttresses flanking the windows are probably C19. Rear elevation to right of
main front has wing of one-window range to left with 3-light stone mullion
window, with drip mould to first floor. C19 panelled door to centre is flanked
by single-light window, one with a stone surround to left. 6-panel door to far
right has 4-centred moulded stone head. Rear elevation to left is of 2-window
range at ground floor with drip moulds, that to left is probably late C17. One
similar 2-light first floor window, part with leaded light. Rear gable has one
similar 2-light stone mullion window, part with leaded lights. Ashlar stack at
apex. Interior not inspected.
